Getting in the Christmas Spirit

Yesterday was the official start to our Christmas. It was the Christmas party for the TERRA Center for Pregnant and Parenting Teens and we were in charge of the Santa photos. For the third year in a row we worked with Mr. Clause and took photos as he listened to the Christmas wishes of over 80 kids!!! It was a whirl wind of an evening and it really got us in the Christmas Spirit. The mom’s and dad’s were so excited get the Santa photo of their kids and turned around with pride to show off their cute little one on Santa’s lap. We took 80+ pictures, printed them and then put them Santa approved photo holders and had them ready to send home with the families before the end of the evening.
I’d like to thank Bonnie and Dan Albrecht, Sharon Chadwick and Carey Ilchuk for acting as Santa’s Elves and helping us to control the chaos. A fabulous night that ended with the best gift of all – one of the TERRA clients took the time to write us each a handwritten Christmas card. She told us that Christmas can be a difficult time for her and she told us how much she appreciated us how much this evening meant to her and her little girl. I think we’ll be back again next year!

Just a reminder that Christmas is right around the corner. Important Christmas deadlines are coming. If you planned to get Christmas cards or give prints of your favourite photos, we don’t want you to miss your opportunity.
If you want to order Christmas Cards from your photography sessions this year the cut off to place your order is November 20th
If you are wanting to order prints from a session this year and have them in time for Christmas the last day to place your order is December 5th

We are very excited for Crystal Brown from Ricci Hair Co and Stephanie Callihoo from Eveline Charles Salon and Spa’s who are among the semi-finalists for Contessa 22 awards. The Contessa awards are one of the highest Canadian honours a beauty professional can be awarded with. Becoming a semi-finalists means that Crystal and Stephanie are ranked as some of the best in their craft in Canada.
We are honoured that we were able to capture the images that Crystal and Stephanie used to launch themselves to the semi-finals.

From a few weeks old to 6 months old. We have had the pleasure of meeting with Miss Emily 3 different times and, my oh my, how much she has changed. This little cutie is a bundle of talking, cooing, cute energy and she sure can turn on the charm when the camera comes out. What a sweetheart. I can’t believe how much she has learned she’s already sitting and is well on her way to developing a bit of a shoe fetish.. oh my mom and dad better watch out.
I just have to say, look at those amazing big brown eyes!

Four Griffin Generations

Yesterday was a busy day and a great day to spend the afternoon with the entire Griffin clan. Almost a year ago we were photographing Jessica and Corey’s wedding and yesterday we had the pleasure of photographing four Griffin generations. It was a real treat to see the two new additions to the Griffin family, these cute cousins are destined to be best of friends. Here is a sneak peek into the marathon photoshoot that included, 2 infants (need I say more), 3 great-grandparents, 2 grandparents, 2 new moms and 2 new dads!!!!

Clayton and Sophia picked one of their favourite locations for their nuptials. Out on the dock at sunset can be a challenging location for photographs, but when you get the couple exposed properly against the backlight sky the results are simply stunning.
